Hi everyone.
We are inviting people to join us for a snow moving work party at Kinsmen Park Saturday Nov 23 at 10:30 to move snow on the trail. For as long as you are able. Snow scoops are the most useful implement; we tend to push snow rather than shovel it. Most of the trail is in pretty good shape. Rob Cuuningham is now the lead groomer at Kinsmen. He used the ski doo and trapper’s sled to pack snow on Tuesday during the initial storm to capture a lot of the snow in place. So there is good coverage over most of the trail. But there are some thin areas with nearby snow that can be moved. As well as a big drift at the circle hedge that needs to be lowered and moved into a thin area. Rob groomed the trail Thursday and created a decent skate lane and double classic tracks. It is worth skiing there!! There are some thin areas, and some soft areas. But a very good start! Hope to see a good turn out to move snow. Its fun doing it as a group!
