Introduction to Cross Country (Nordic) Skiing with Regina Ski Club, for Free
Sadly, this event is CANCELLED due to forecast extremely cold weather.
When: Sunday January 14th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
Where: Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre in Les Sherman Park
Gliding across the snow on cross country skis is a wonderful way to explore the outdoors.
Regina Ski Club, Cross Country Saskatchewan and City of Regina are partnering to offer people an opportunity to try this winter sport. This can be a great family activity. We will have skis, boots and poles for children and adults, volunteers to help you with the equipment and volunteer coaches to get you started. Regina Ski Club will have groomed trails at Les Sherman Park ready for skiers.
Meet us at the Neil Balkwill Centre where we will find you suitable ski boots, give you a quick introduction to cross country skiing, and then get you out onto the Les Sherman ski trails to have fun on skis. Dress appropriately for the weather.
No reservation is necessary. People will be given equipment as they arrive. We have several pairs of ski boots in most sizes, but there may be a wait until earlier skiers return if all equipment of your size is in use. Last skiers will be sent out at 3:30 so they have time to ski before the event winds up at 4:00.
