Nordic Adult Lessons

Adult skiing at the Regina Ski Club is about confidence, efficiency, fitness, and enjoyment—whether you are new to skiing, returning to skiing, refining technique, or challenging yourself in events like the Frozen Prairie Race Series.

Our adult programming is designed for skiers who want practical, instructor-guided feedback to help them ski better in both classic and/or skate.

Program fees support the Nordic Youth Ski Program.

Why Ski with a Regina Ski Club Instructor

While cross country skiing appears simple, instruction can make skiing less effort and more fun, enabling you to go further and ski faster. A Regina Ski Club instructor can help get you started – or get much better – in one of the best winter sports in Regina! This season we are offering courses to adults in beginner to advanced classic and skate skiing technique

Ski lessons take place in Regina on machine groomed trails maintained by Regina Ski Club volunteers.  Beginner Class size is limited to 6 participants usually fill up well before start date, so register early to reserve your place. More courses may be added to the schedule as the season progresses, depending on instructor availability, weather, etc.

Course fees do not include skiing equipment. If you need rentals, please contact Fresh Air Experience at 306-522-6665

Ski with Greater Joy

Technique Training for Intermediate & Advanced Adult Skiers

Ski with Greater Joy is a season-long technique program for adult skiers who want to move more efficiently, feel smoother on snow, and enjoy skiing at a higher level.

These 30-minute coached technique sessions take place after Frozen Prairie Series races (typically 7:30 PM) and are carefully aligned with the race technique of the evening—classic or skate.

Program Highlights

  • ✔ Short, focused technique sessions (30 minutes)

  • ✔ Aligned with Frozen Prairie Series race technique

  • ✔ Open to all adult skiers (18+)

  • ✔ Attend as many sessions as you like

  • ✔ Fees directly support the RSC Nordic Youth Race Team

Coaching

Sessions are led by Nordiq Canada Racing-Certified Coaches, offering high-quality instruction rooted in long-term athlete development and efficient movement patterns.


Who This Program Is For

This program is ideal for adult skiers who:

  • Have skied before and are comfortable on snow

  • Want better technique, flow, and efficiency

  • Ski recreationally or participate in club races

  • Want expert feedback without committing to long weekly lessons

  • Enjoy a social, community-driven training environment

Note: This program is designed for intermediate to advanced skiers. Participants should be able to ski continuously for 30 minutes.


Schedule & Format

  • 🕢 Time: After Frozen Prairie Series races (usually 7:30 PM)

  • 🎿 Technique: Matches the race (Classic or Skate)

  • 🔥 Warm-up: Please arrive early and warm up on skis before the session

Adult Learn to Ski

Weekend LEARN TO CLASSIC SKI COURSES   ( 2* 90 min  Sessions) – $75.00

Course 1: December  6-7, 2025 (*Subject to snow conditions) Saturday/Sundays 10:00am – 11:30am

Course 2: January  17-18, 2026  Saturday/Sundays 10:00am – 11:30 am

Course 5: February 7-8, 2026 Saturday/Sundays 10:00am – 11:30am

Course 6: February 7-8, 2026 Saturday/Sundays 1:00pm – 2:30 pm

Weeknight LEARN TO CLASSIC SKI COURSES   ( 3 * 60 min  Sessions) – $75.00

Course 3:  December 8 – 10th 2025 (*Subject to snow conditions) Mon, Tues, Wed , 6:00 – 7:00 pm.    *option to join Thursday Social Ski

Course 4:  January 19- 21, 2026   Mon, Tues, Wed , 6:00 – 7:00 pm.    *option to join Thursday Social Ski Weeknights, 6:00 – 7:00 pm)

Each course covers identical content – waxing theory, basic diagonal stride techniques, including balance and weight transfer, double poling, herringbone and snow plow, turning and stopping.  Suitable for those who have never skied before or have had no formal instruction.

Weekend LEARN TO SKATE SKI COURSES   ( 2* 90 min  Sessions) – $75.00

Course 1: December  6-7, 2025 (*Subject to snow conditions) Saturday/Sundays 1:00pm – 2:30pm

Course 2: January  17-18, 2026  Saturday/Sundays 1:00pm – 2:30 pm

Course 3: Februrary 7-8, 2026 (*Subject to snow conditions) Saturday/Sundays 3:30pm – 5:00pm

Thursday Social Ski Nights (6–7 PM)

Join fellow Regina Ski Club members for a relaxed and social evening on the snow! Every Thursday from December through March, we hit the trails — Science Centre, Kinsmen, and Foothills — for good company, fitness, and winter fun.

What to expect:

  • Choose your ski style — classic or skate — and your own pace

  • All experience levels welcome (basic experience recommended)

  • Monthly: Technique tips, Après Ski at the Willow, and Glow Skis!

  • Cost: Free for current Regina Ski Club Members — just bring your enthusiasm!

Class location…

Classes will be hosted on Regina ski club groomed and set trails.

A note about bad weather…

Sessions will be rescheduled by the instructor in the event of bad weather.  The instructor will contact you if a session needs to be cancelled.
